Attorneys / James J. Corbelli

Mr. Corbelli is an AV rated civil trial attorney with more than 25 years of experience in the areas of business litigation and transactional services. He has lectured and conducted seminars on Alternative Dispute Resolution, attorney ethics and other litigation issues. Mr. Corbelli was a contributing author to “Professional Liability Law, Leading Lawyers on Strategies for Minimizing Risk and Increasing Success in Professional Liability Suits,” published by Aspatore Books, 2005.

Prior to becoming of counsel to Farrimond Law Offices, Mr. Corbelli was a partner for 11 years at Lillick & Charles LLP and for 7 years at Nixon Peabody LLP. At Lillick & Charles his practice focused on business disputes, including antitrust issues, Directors and Officers liability claims, state and federal securities fraud, and civil RICO claims. Mr. Corbelli represented attorneys and law firms with respect to claims of legal malpractice, ethical breaches, and other civil matters. While at Nixon Peabody, Mr. Corbelli continued to advise and represent attorneys, directors and other professionals with respect to professional liability and fiduciary duty.

At the trial and appellate levels, Mr. Corbelli focuses upon antitrust and unfair business practices claims, trade secrets disputes, federal and state securities fraud litigation, wire and mail fraud, and commercial bribery claims. At Nixon Peabody he was the partner for Loss Prevention at the firm’s California offices and served as a member of Nixon Peabody’s Professional Standards Committee.
